My final project for Printmaking. This was actually done using a linoleum block, instead of wood. I believe i had five seperate blocks: blocks for the background, the lines, the hair and tail, the skin, and one for the fin, lips and skulls.

This was really fun to do. it's a very interesting process. It's very hard to get fine lines in woodcutting though, hence why her profile is a little messed up. This took about maybe two to three days to finish...about 6 hours total, probably.

Concept:

Sirens sing to draw men to their death.
The life of a Siren is lonely and silent.
They can't change their fate...their voice carries death and enchantment.
Love is forbidden to them...it doesn't exist for them.

Oo, linoleum blocks? Those are fun! But hard to get just right...I think you have done an amazing job with this. Beautiful and deadly, all in one. XD
