Here it is. This is the image I was working on about a month ago. After the fiasco the only thing that was finished was the background. It took a while, but I finally got the urge to dive back in and finish it. And wow, does it feel good to finally have this completed.
I wanted to work on improving my color/atmospheric skills. Painter helped me out a lot with that. I never understood why people would need to use different programs on one piece...now I understand. You can't get the same color variation in Photoshop as you can in Painter. So I blocked out the basic colors in Painter and did the detailing in Photoshop - worked out very nice. Must do that for all of my digital works from now on.  In case no one recognizes this character, it's my pirate altar-ego: Luscious Firewater. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
